  1. i ran the prerequisite after that when i click on “Install sharepoint server” , every time i am getting error “Setup has detected previous version of this product, please remove previous version”…i have done fresh installation of windows server 2008 and there is no other software installed. do you have any idea about this. appreciate your help!!

    1. Rohit are you trying it on Windows Server 2008? I would suggest using Windows Server 2008 R2.

Make sure you check the add remove program that no SharePoint product is installed on this machine. Also check the error log of Pre-Requisite Installer as it might show you what is already installed on this machine.

  2. Hi Jerry,

This one is quite helpful, I’m planning to make a VM for this myself,
quick question what are the hardware configurations for your VM(RAM, hdd etc).
    Please let me know!…Thanks again!
